Having worked for over 30 years in the sport and leisure industry, Dr Kate Hughes set up KH2 Community Link Services to progress her commitment to help promote ‘healthy bodies and healthy minds in the local community’.
Working on projects across the public, private and voluntary sectors, Kate has gained first-hand experience of the difficulties faced by those trying to engage with the complex world of sport development: to find out what might be available, who can help and where that help might be found.
Kate founded a ‘Community Interest Company ‘for that very reason: the CIC aims to be the catalyst to help communities to help themselves and, if appropriate, can be the vehicle through which to best process grant applications.
The CIC also provides a consultancy service supported by practical experience of sport development and the need for evidence, this based on robust qualitative and quantitative research. Kate also works extensively with a network of partners enabling access to specialist expertise with the added potential to build on the initial programme of work.
Dr Kate Hughes has worked in sport development for over 30 years. She has practical experience of delivering sport development services across the public, private and voluntary sectors. More recently, Kate has completed a PhD in sport mega-events and social legacy which adds additional academic skills in research, monitoring and evaluation to the services KH2 can offer.
